ABOUT

The Exodus Ensemble is transforming the theatrical landscape with its immersive and unorthodox productions. Founded in 2020 by a group of DePaul University alumni, the ensemble relocated to Santa Fe during the pandemic to reimagine classic narratives and realize a radical dream: to dismantle conventional theatre structures and rebuild them from the ground up. Exodus Experiences thrust audiences into the heart of timeless stories, transforming classics like Cyrano, Hamlet, Medea, and Ivanov into visceral, site-specific events that infuse cinematic sensibilities into the live experience.

With over 500 performances to date, Exodus has electrified audiences ranging from high school students to former Walt Disney Motion Picture presidents—all seeking to connect, feel, and be transformed.

OUR MODEL

The Exodus Ensemble’s radical donation-based ticketing model, which has raised $2 million over four years, ensures that their immersive experiences remain accessible to all. Anchored by its 13 full-time artists—who not only develop and perform productions but also serve as the company’s operational staff—Exodus allocates 80% of its budget to supporting these creators.

  • APRIL CLEVELAND

    ARTISTIC & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    April Cleveland hails from Los Angeles and holds a BS from St. John’s College and an MFA in Directing from DePaul University. After pandemic shutdowns halted major directing projects, she founded The Exodus Ensemble in 2020 and has since directed all seven original adaptations while pioneering its $600k donation-based model.

  • KYA BRICKHOUSE

    FOUNDING ENSEMBLE MEMBER

    Kya Brickhouse is a New York City–born actor-writer who trained at LaGuardia High School and graduated from the Theatre School at DePaul University after developing her artistic voice at Rosie's Theater Kids. Her work spans stage, screen, and readings at institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, with film and TV credits such as The Red Line and Trick, and she will appear in the upcoming thriller Lone Wolf alongside Bryan Cranston and Lily Gladstone.

  • GARRETT YOUNG

    FOUNDING ENSEMBLE MEMBER

    Garrett Young is an actor from Gig Harbor, Washington, who appeared in the original Broadway company of John Proctor Is the Villain and has worked with institutions including the Geffen Playhouse, Goodman Theatre, and Mark Taper Forum. He trained at DePaul University and the British American Drama Academy, with TV credits including New Amsterdam, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago Justice, and stage work earning Jeff and St. Louis Theatre Circle nominations.

  • TIFF ABREU

    FOUNDING ENSEMBLE MEMBER

    Tiff Abreu is an actor-artist-environmentalist of Puerto Rican descent who was raised in Houston, Texas and trained at the Theatre School at DePaul University. Her screen credits include Chicago Med, Dark Matter, and The Curse, and she is also the voice of Checkers, appearing in national campaigns for brands like Blue Bunny and Toyota.
